Walter Issacson (since 2018, Professor of History, Tulane University Louisiana), recently published a new (September, 2023) biography. While the subject, Elon Musk, is well-chosen (timely, multi-faceted, mercurial, potentially to be an Icarus; potentially to be a Theseus – verdict? Only time will tell, it seems.
However, Walter Issacson has solidified a position as not only a prominent, and very popular, biographer, but one of our most astute askers of questions, a significant listener, a very adept, dogged and talented interviewer, a thorough research (presumably, now?, with a team of researchers?), and communicator (written-word dominant).
The New York Times ran a suite of resources upon the publication of Elon Musk.
A Review by Jennifer Szalai on September 9, 2023;
A set of “take-aways” from the book on September 9, 2023 curated by Jeremy W. Peters, Niraj Chokshi and Benjamin Mullin.
And, a Q and A with Walter Issacson held by Andrew Sorkin Ross, published on September 10, 2023.
Collectively, these reveal a living creator who is a master in bringing out the stories which shape us.
